Student Internships

Rio Tinto is a member of the Federal European Minerals Program (FEMP) and actively encourages tertiary education in mining related disciplines. Rio Tinto is offering work placement opportunities or 10 students currently studying Mining, Geology, Metallurgy, Minerals Processing or related disciplines.

Placements will be based in Rio Tinto operations around the world including Australia, Canada, South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States. Applicants with strong teamwork and communication skills are sought for site-based technical projects.

Internships will be open to past or current FEMP students (=Major in Process Automation) graduating in 12 months time or less. Students who have already graduated will also be considered. Previous mining related experience will be highly regarded.
